Junior Bike Week
Are you ready for the biggest kids’ bike party on the planet? Since 2016, Junior Bike Week has been setting the stage for an unforgettable experience where kids can indulge in a plethora of competitive and festive events throughout the long weekend. From trail work that nurtures a love for nature to skills clinics that ignite a passion for adventure, every moment promises excitement, growth, and camaraderie.
By joining us at this special event, your registration fees directly contribute to providing kids with the opportunity to experience the magic of riding bikes, fostering a love for cycling that will last a lifetime. Your support also helps in creating a safe, high-quality, progress-based youth program through the Crested Butte Development Team, ensuring that our young riders have access to the best possible experience at the most affordable cost.
2024 Schedule
There are plenty of events and things to do in the days leading up to the biking event. The races will be taking place on Saturday, June 29th, following the schedule below:
Ages 17-18 | 8:30 am Start: Course is approximately 16 miles, 1,875 ft climbing RED BIBS w/ RED COURSE MARKINGS.
Ages 15-16 | 9:15 am Start: Course is approximately 12 miles, 1,500 ft climbing RED BIBS w/ RED COURSE MARKINGS.
Ages 13-14 | 9:20 am Start: Course is approximately 10 miles, 1,000 ft climbing BLUE BIBS w/BLUE COURSE MARKINGS.
Ages 11-12 | 9:25 am Start: Course is approximately 10 miles, 1,000 ft climbing BLUE BIBS w/BLUE COURSE MARKINGS. Same course as 13-14, different age category!
Ages 8-10 | 8:40 am Start: Course is approximately 8 miles, 800 ft climbing GREEN BIBS w/ GREEN COURSE MARKINGS.
Bring your sweet tooth, because Third Bowl Homemade Ice Cream will be available for all racers at the award ceremony after the race. Make sure to keep an eye on the event schedule on their site in case any changes are made.
Outerbike
Get ready for an extraordinary adventure at Outerbike in Crested Butte on August 15th-18th! Western Spirit Cycling has curated a summer Outerbike event in one of the sport’s birthplaces. Mt. Crested Butte has always been a sought-after destination for hardcore riders, and with the addition of the new Bike Park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Take the lift to test the latest bikes on the classic rides or explore the exciting new trails at the base area. Registration for Outerbike is capped, so be sure to secure your spot by registering early. From August 16th to 18th, 2024, Crested Butte will transform into a mountain biking paradise, showcasing the most notable brands in the industry. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cyclist, we invite everyone to join the breathtaking setting of Crested Butte. At an impressive elevation of 9,375 feet above sea level, Crested Butte boasts some of the world’s most inspiring trails. Bikers have 3 bike pass packages to choose from: Full Demo, BYOB, and Social Card.
